Who says you can't enjoy a frosty marg all year round? We gave the classic summer drink some seasonal flair in this recipe with the addition of sweet cranberry flavor and a festive garnish. The perfect winter cocktail, we love to serve this blended bev at holiday parties, or even for a post-Christmas treat after surviving the mayhem of the holidays. If you can't get enough of refreshing margs no matter the weather, switch it up this winter with a sweet seasonal take on the classic cocktail.
What's in a cranberry margarita?
This fruity winter marg has all the same ingredients as our classic margarita—lime, tequila, triple sec—but with added cranberries, cranberry juice and a sugary rim. While on the rocks would be delicious, we decided to go the frozen margarita route with this recipe to keep with the chill, frosty vibes.
What tequila should I use?
Whatever your favorite type of tequila is should work beautifully in this recipe, but the higher the quality, the better the marg. We used a silver tequila, but feel free to experiment with what you prefer best!
How should I garnish it?
While this margarita is stunning all on its own, the garnish is really where we can add some festive holiday flair. We topped our margs with sprigs of rosemary, lime, and homemade sugared cranberries for an extra-frosty look. If you'd rather not deal with sugaring your cranberries, no stress—plain will do. But, all it takes is two simple steps to transform them into a snowy, winter garnish perfect for a holiday party.
